EDUCATION & SPONSORSHIP

"The ability to pay costs associated with education remains a key determinant for persistence in completion of school for the less fortunate kids in Kenya" - Caroline Sabina.

Education is essential to the full development of our personalities and should be made available for all who seek the opportunity to learn. However, it is not free of cost for the youths that we serve. To ensure that each one of them receives a proper education, our Youth Education Sponsorship (YES) Program provides support by connecting willing sponsors to disadvantaged youths. The financial  assistance prevents students from dropping out of school due to financial hardship.  Along with tuition sponsorship, our program assists with providing school uniforms to underprivileged youths and orphans in the communities we serve.

ENTREPRENEURSHIP PROGRAM

"Give a Man a Fish, and You Feed Him for a Day. Teach a Man To Fish, and You Feed Him for a Lifetime-Chinese Proverb

We see every challenge as an opportunity, and this initiative helps us ensure that our youths are better prepared to manage the unique situations they find themselves in. As with many developing countries, Kenya does not have adequate employment opportunities to match the number of young adults advancing from the educational system into the job market. Bearing this in mind, it is necessary for our youth to be equipped with the ability to acquire productive employment and livelihoods for themselves. Through our Entrepreneurship Program, youths are offered opportunities to learn the necessary skills and experiences to thrive economically on their own.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

“It is in your hands, to make a better world for all who live in it.”-Nelson Mandela

The training on leadership encourages positive development of youth and their communities. Through our Leadership Program, youth develop skills and competencies that make them better able to solve personal problems as well as the community. In addition, these positive engagements help reduce the risk of youth becoming involved in unsafe activities while promoting positive self images.

Through our Leadership Program, we have the potential to make a real and positive change in the community. This is one of our key areas of focus here at Arising Youth International, and a source of much success for our Non-Profit Organization. Get in touch with us today and see how you can lend a helping hand with this program.

CREATIVE EXPRESSION PROGRAM

"Creativity doesn't wait for that perfect moment. It fashions its own perfect moments out of ordinary ones." - Bruce Garrabrandt

Development of personal independence is critical for youths. As a result, it becomes critical for them to establish their own personal identities. With this comes a push towards psychological freedom and the need to freely express themselves.

Performing arts programs help to build self-confidence and encourages self expression. With performing arts, the youths learn to examine and channel their feelings through music, movement and performances. Thus, fostering personal development.

Once the youths learn to flourish in  self-expression, it can be transferred to real life issues with ease. The youths in our Creative Expression Program use their performances as a means to bring attention to societal issues including AIDS/HIV, teen pregnancy, domestic violence, alcohol abuse, drug abuse, sexual abuse, physical abuse, and the roll of education in achieving a brighter future.

LEADERSHIP CAMP 2018

In April 2018, we hosted Leadership Camp 2018 in Mombasa. We toured the historical landmarks of Fort Jesus and Haller Park. Interwoven between fun activities were lessons on skill-building and leadership training. These young people were acquainted with issues, needs and resources that influence the future of the world in order to create a diversified group of leaders.
